Wrestling

There are sports that I understand and love; baseball, tennis, soccer to say a few.  Then, there are sports that I understand but don’t care about, like football, hockey and basketball.  Finally, there are the sports that I do not understand, find unbearably stupid and cannot comprehend why anyone in their right mind would ever want to participate in them.  There are three: curling, competitive eating and wrestling.  Curling is for Canadians, which automatically makes it stupid, competitive eating is for fat people and it tempts m too much, and wrestling is for people who oddly enjoy grasping each other tightly around the groin area and wearing tight costumes called singlets.  However, I cannot insult wrestling too drastically for two reasons.  The first being that I would never be brave enough to try wrestling, and the second being that unlike curling and eating, I actually am frightened by the participants of the “sport”  and I don’t look forward to the idea of being attacked by several large and angry men in singlets.  I recently went to support several of my friends in a wrestling match (game, competition… What are they called?) and I have to say that the most interesting thing there were the coaches.  Between calling their wrestlers incompetent and lazy and screaming incoherently, they created enough noise to distract me from my foam finger and actually watch what was happening.  My friends and I all cringed when people got flipped, laughed when our friends were doing the flipping and looked away when people started bleeding.  However, this is me doing the insulting.  I have never wrestled, (voluntarily) but I still think that I’m tough.  I would like to commend all of my friends that wrestle and you are all officially stronger and tougher than me.  It is not my place to insult you and believe it or not, I secretly admire you all.  A lot.  Now, please stay away from me.  That singlet is far too snug for my taste.

This blog is informal to say the least. It's almost like an online journal, filled with stories that I find funny, interesting things/links and anything else that comes to my mind. Enjoy.
