Standardized Testing

I’m a teenager, so there are a bunch of things that you can assume about my life and have a fairly high chance of being right.  All I think about is sex (in this blog post, I thought about it ninety-seven times), I eat incredible amounts of food, and I enjoy fraternizing with local youths.  All of these are true, especially the one about the youths.  Whenever I can, I try and spend time with the youths.  They’re so young and full of spirit, I just love it.  However, there’s something else that I’ve been doing non-stop with my hands, alone in my room, the door locked…taking practice ACT and SAT-2 tests, what else?  You see, I’m a junior in high school and my life at this point is pretty much just stressing out about school and college.  It’s lots of fun and sometimes I forget to take a breath and remind myself that these are the best years of my life.  However, with that whole college thing comes standardized testing.  For those of you whom aren’t teenagers/haven’t applied to a college in the U.S. in the past twenty or so years, there are two big tests that you need to know about: the ACT and the SAT.  Everyone always argues about which one is better but they’re pretty much the same.  Hours and hours of staring at a page, filled with boredom, telling yourself “if there was a fire right now, I guess that wouldn’t be the worst thing ever,” even praying to gods who you invented out of desperation.  So, these miserable tests, they’re actually pretty significant.  They get sent with my grades to colleges and if mine suck then I don’t get to go to college and my lives are ruined and I’m going to be homeless and I’ll end up living in downtown Detroit with the other homeless guys and we’ll form a gang and commit petty crimes and when it rains I’ll get wet and I’ll be miserable and it’ll be really bad.  Essentially they control my entire future.  I have to take a lot more of them and that’s pretty much my life right now.  That and thinking about sex and what to name my street gang in downtown Detroit.

This blog is informal to say the least. It's almost like an online journal, filled with stories that I find funny, interesting things/links and anything else that comes to my mind. Enjoy.
